Help & FAQ

How does TransferPlanner work?

Using ASSIST data, it recommends the smallest set of courses that satisfies the major prep requirements of several UC schools at once. It uses a weighted set cover algorithm, giving more weight to the requirements of the schools you rank higher.

Where does the data come from?

Based on 2025-2026 ASSIST articulation data. Monitoring 2026-2027; no validated reports are active yet. Verify final decisions with ASSIST and a counselor.

Can I change courses from past terms?

Yes. Term cards stay editable, so you can add, move, or remove courses when your plan needs cleanup.

Can I plan for multiple majors?

Currently optimized for De Anza College -> UC Berkeley Computer Science. The planning model supports more targets, but the public beta only exposes validated school-major pairs.

Is this free?

Yes, every feature is free during the MVP.

Why isn't my major available?

Currently optimized for De Anza College -> UC Berkeley Computer Science. Other colleges and majors are coming after we can validate the data safely.

Can I use this instead of ASSIST or a counselor?

TransferPlanner is a planning aid, not official academic advising. Confirm final decisions with ASSIST and a counselor.
